The Dance Card
Designed as a social event, the dance card format is a fun and entertaining way to meet new people! There are 15 slots on your dance card, we do them in 3 sets of five songs each. After the dance cards have been set out, people run around talking to everyone, filling in the rest of their dance card, “Would you care to dance? Are you available for number 6? No, then how about number 9?” “Oh no, you’re dance card is completely full without me on it? Then, may I have one during the break?” No one knows what the music is, unless specified on your card – waltz, tango, cha-cha, bolero, etc. The music spans all types and eras. During the breaks, DJed music is provided. If you bring a date, we recommend you put them as the first and last dance of the evening.
Brew City Hops runs regular classes and periodic dances, workshops and other dance events. We enjoy a variety of partner social dances including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Collegiate Shag, East Coast Swing, and Blues.
